April 15th approaches us too quickly every year. I envy those who have a few (or even just one) W2, some standard deductions, and can do their taxes on their own using Turbo tax or get everything together and drop it off at their accountants.
For some reason my hubby attracts idiot employers. The first year of our marriage he had an employer who was just dishonest with his clients (and expected all those who worked their to assist in ripping them off by selling them crap for their crap websites they didn't need). The employer after that was a jerk who lived an outrageous lifestyle but couldn't balance his checkbook (so the paychecks kept bouncing and our account - at the credit union that I worked at - was in the negative at various times).
A couple of smooth years went by (four to be exact) and then Moe's employer couldn't afford to pay the benefits company and thought he could manage the books on his own. Half a dozen late / short paychecks later - he quit and did freelance for a couple of months.
Thank heavens we got out of there before it got really bad, but unfortunately we have to deal with the nice (but really stupid with money) guy for 2009 taxes. Blegh. We finally got a hold of someone to give us our W2 (it's only March 24th) but they are claiming they paid us more than we can account for. (I was going to have to contact the IRS & report the old employer - something I was looking forward too. But then Moe got a hold of this accounting chick.) UGH!
Anyway, it really makes me appreciate this job he has: direct deposit, on time, never getting letters saying our health benefits are lapsing because the employer hasn't paid for them, 2 miles from our house, and a daycare (if Buddy ever gets off the waiting list) on site. 2010 taxes will be A LOT easier (knock on wood).
