I've learned over the years of living here (in my college days & now we're back) that the apparently SE Idaho weather doesn't listen to Punxsutawney Phil. I've seen in snow (well just flurries) in June. It usually doesn't get uncomfortably warm unless it's the middle of August, but even then I've been known to bring a sweater (just in case my body gets the chills - which is normal for me).
I didn't even know there was a specific groundhog that everyone looked to until I saw the movie with Billy Murray. Then TV replayed that movie over & over and it seemed like it was ALWAYS on for about two months after I originally saw it. Talk about annoying.
Speaking of which, the radio advertised yesterday that the morning talk show hosts would be talking about re-living a day - "and if you could redo a day which one would it be... call in" blah blah. I can't think of any day that I would like to re-live over & over. Wedding - too many pictures. Birth of my children - too much pain (emotional & physical). Graduation - nothing special there. I guess my life is pretty plain most days. Although if I ever go to Hawaii and get to spend a day with the perfect book on the beach ...I can see myself wanting to re-live that (although reading the same book over & over would get old).

Midnight Nanny Wanted
Don't you just love it when your two month old wakes up every hour (or two) at night because he is hungry, then eats just enough not to be starving & promptly returns to the unwakeable sleep? Well that was Bubba & I last night. Usually we have one of those nights almost every week. Normally it's 3-4 hours in between feedings & to me that extra hour makes a HUGE difference.
I usually do the night thing ok. There have been a couple nights where I have fallen asleep while feeding (and woken up to a hickey on my boob or spit up all over me) or where I haven't been as quick as Bubba would like (and we discover he's given himself a hickey on his arm). I do, however, struggle between 4-6 a.m. Every morning Bubba wakes up between these hours, I roll over & get Moe to feed him (via bottle) or help burp him.
Moe does the whole night (well I guess morning) feeding thing different & I usually wake up to find the two of them sharing the twin bed. Bubba is nitched in Moe's armpit (yeah, it's really gross to smell your baby's head & get a whiff of B.O.) with a half eaten bottle near by.
Luckily it is Pioneer Day so after an early morning scout breakfast we were able to take a nap.
Pioneer day has always been an interesting phenomenon to me. Growing up in a state that doesn't really have a state holiday (only potato harvest - which only some towns get off, mine not included), I thought it was a little weird to get a day off of work that the rest of the nation didn't have. I'm not complaining mind you, I think it's great to celebrate heritage & have basically a second 4th of July (on the 24th).
This year, I'm just glad to have an extra day to relax (with Moe around to help with Bubba).
